Happy Father's Day Kings!

Happy Father’s Day to all the wonderful men raising their princesses to be queens and princes to be kings. Thank you for your strength, your courage and your love.

Today I want to take a brief moment to honor my father, my hero, my king, LeRoix Hampton III!  I was privileged to have my Daddy as my best friend, my musical coach, spiritual leader and music producer.  He was an amazing musician and had a gift of seeing the deep rooted potential in people and coaching them into greatness - external greatness, yes, but more importantly, the greatness of character and the greatness of soul. He excelled in building the spirit “man."

My father started his musical career in high school, playing piano in local bands and churches around the Orlando, FL area. In his early twenties, he made the decision to become a record producer, and within a year he was signed to a major label as a producer, keyboardist and composer for a Gospel group, Kingdom. Over the years, he grew tremendously, played on several albums, wrote and published thousands of songs, and he coached and mentored many producers that we hear today. He never wanted fame and never did music for notoriety, he was a visionary, and always worked to build a path for other people to be able to walk on and flourish.

Being a producer, he would always create and complete projects for other people, but never did anything for himself. His studio was in an upstairs room in our house next to my little sister’s room, and one night my sister was having nightmares, she came out of the room and said “daddy, can you play something for me.” So he sent her back to bed and sat at the keyboard and played until she fell asleep. She started asking him to do it every night, so he decided to record what he was playing. He produced a full album of instrumental music to be able to give to my baby sister to help her sleep at night and wasn’t going to do anything else with it. I kept telling him, “ Dad, people need this… it’s so good, we should put it out.” He wasn’t a big self-promoter, but he obliged me and we came up with the name meloRest, he sent it to a few friends and then moved on to the next project lol.

In 2016, I watched this prolific piano player, no longer be able to play due to a massive stroke that caused paralysis on his right side. I took over his business and finished out projects that he was working on and spent the last two years of his life by his side, sometimes sleeping, sometimes crying, many times laughing but most of the time learning.

This is my second Father’s day without my dad on Earth, as he eventually passed away in January of last year.  So today, I want to celebrate the spirit of excellence he embodied, I want to celebrate the way he poured into so many people selflessly, I want to celebrate his laughter, celebrate the husband and father he was and most of all, celebrate his musicianship!

Here at Astrologic, with many thanks to Lorenzo and the team, we are releasing meloRest! You are able to download this project at any cost, by setting your price. All that I ask is, if you like it, share it with a friend or family member who needs it! This project is a beautiful aid for meditation, sleep and relaxation. In the midst of all of the chaos happening in the world, we need to pull away, realign and REST.

A true Virgo, my father was a perfectionist and strived to make sure everything was in order, and he demanded excellence of himself which in turn made him demand that excellence in others. He was a Father, in every sense of the word and was always pushing me and everyone around him to be their VERY BEST. I encourage you to continue to do the same.

HAPPY FATHER’S DAY!
