VISIONS - New Moon in Pisces 3/10/24

Visions - New Moon In Pisces

March 10, 2024

The new moon in Pisces arrives on March 10 and with it comes a cosmic push into examining the question of faith. What is faith? Why is it necessary? Why do we need to look beyond our current circumstances? How can we believe that our circumstances will evolve or change?

Stevie Wonder asked these questions for us 50 years ago, in a song called "Visions":

"People hand in hand

Have I lived to see the milk and honey land?

Where hate's a dream and love forever stands

Or is this a vision in my mind?"

And he answered his own question of whether his faith was real or not with a strident defense of his sanity:

"I'm not one who make believes

I know that leaves are green

They only turn to brown

when autumn comes around

I know just what I say,

Today's not yesterday

And all things have an ending."

Finally Stevie, like most of us, has to learn to live with the both the question and the quest to know what else is possible, without a clear path to the answer:

"But what l'd like to know

Is could a place like this exist so beautiful?

Or do we have to find our wings and fly away

To the vision in our mind?"

This friends is the challenge of the the New Moon in Pisces.

We must walk through the dust of our daily lives, while dreaming of other possibilities for ourselves. We must give shape to our personal visions while not knowing if we will ultimately be able to manifest them. It can be very confusing to sense that we can be more than we currently are, and have more than we currently have, but not be sure, mentally or emotionally, if what we are feeling is real. It’s hard to be visionary and self examining. But that doesn’t mean that we shouldn’t go for it anyway. Perhaps it is in living without knowing all the answers that we ultimately learn that life is more about the journey and the intention than the destination?

Fortunately, Saturn the planet of facing reality is also in the sign of Pisces now. Sometimes nothing helps more, when you’re faced with confusion than having solid deadlines and requirements to meet. If you find yourself lost in your feelings during this time, focus on what Saturn is asking you to make firm in whatever house it sits.

Neptune, the planetary ruler of Pisces, is in its own sign, calling us to both the sense of something more to life than the material concerns we all share AND the sense that we

lack a firm answer of how to get there. It’s important now to make choices that are based on what can be while also being compassionate about the limitations that you and others around you cannot ignore.

This weekend’s New Moon in Pisces may bring up more questions than answers. You may feel a longing for something more. I would suggest that, if you feel drawn towards something that feels important, follow that feeling. But like Stevie, keep questioning, don’t get lost while you’re looking. This is the question and challenge of faith that we are facing in the Pisces New Moon.
